My family is, as many others, an amalgamation of individuals that demand to stay tightly tangled together. By doing so, the members are in some way, able to resist strongly, supported by the others. But to support the others that closely can also mean to carry some of their weight and tension, and the need to get some slack can feel as a threat that affects the whole balance of the family composition. What does it mean to completely cut loose and hang just by yourself? Is there a difference when cutting loose is a self-made decision or just a result of distance?
